Encouragement for your heart when you find yourself in a similar season…
“God I thought I’d mastered this. I’ve thought I’ve learned this lesson already. Why am I here, yet again? I don’t want to go back.”
Trauma, pain, and fear mark you. You can heal and it still leave a deep imprint on your life. Acknowledge it and move forward with God. Yet when similar seasons arise, all the emotions come rushing back. What now?
We are a forgetful people, just like the Israelites. With our very eyes we have seen God part the sea, rain down manna from heaven, and meet our every need, yet we forget that He’s faithful in a moment of desperation.
What if our perspective shifted? Instead of “God why, yet again,” we say, “yet again, I will see you come through.”
One of the most powerful things you can choose to do is to look back at your life, see the faithfulness of God, and let that catapult your faith. He was faithful then, and He will be faithful now.
Rest in Jesus’ identity and activity when seasons feel familiar.
Yet again, You will wipe my tears.
Yet again, You will be enough.
Yet again, You will be my defender.
Yet again, You will comfort me.
Yet again, You never leave me.
Yet again, You have allowed me to be here.
Yet again, I choose to see the good.
Yet again, I get to trust You.
One of the most growing seasons can feel familiar. God is bringing you back to a place that feels uncomfortable to see if you remember that He was faithful.
What faith did God build in you the last time you were in this position? He wants to deepen it. Will you let Him?
Depth in your faith is what sets you apart from the comfortable and complacent.
Take yourself back. Feel it again. Tread this season with courage. Your God is here, yet again.
