For the girl who feels ready, yet god is making her wait.
We are intricate beings created by an incomprehensible God. He instilled desires within us to make life more full drawing us into deeper communion with Him. It’s no accident that He has placed those desires that you are longing for so deep within your heart. But what happens when those desires aren’t met in the timing you think they should be and you’re waiting on God? These gifts quickly turn into weights. Where’s God in the waiting?
If God was ready, he would have met your desire by now, but for some reason, he hasn’t. That means that there is still unfinished business that God is tending to. Truth is you may be ready, but the people and situations around you that involve your desire may not yet be. Make peace that only God knows and sees the whole scope of things and that He doesn’t owe you an explanation.
God is doing a million things in your life right now at once and you may only be aware of about three.
We say with our mouths that we live a surrendered life unto Christ, yet with our actions we try to play God. We think we know better than the one who has authority over our very next breath. We must release our agendas, and come back to delighting in the one who has given us these desires. After all, isn’t delighting in Him what life is all about?
Even if God never meets your heart’s desire, is delighting in Him enough for you?
Don’t let your desires become greater than your delight.
Day after day we must open our hands and surrender again and again. While you’re waiting for God to move, open your eyes to the ways he’s moving within you.
Just because you don’t feel like any change is taking place doesn’t mean that it’s not.
The danger of longing is when we start to believe that God is withholding from us. That’s an attack on His identity and that’s dangerous waters to tread.
If the enemy caused all of mankind to fall by planting the thought that Jesus is restraining good from them, what makes you think he won’t use the same method now?
The beauty of your soul is created in the thick of the waiting and longing. It’s the place you you get gutsy with God with your words and yearn for His spirit into the dark of night. It’s the place where you choose to have faith when your sight isn’t clear. It’s the place where your big prayers and tears intersect. It’s the place where you realize your insufficiency apart from the power of the divine. It’s the place where desperation calls out to the God who does miracles with ease.
Powerful are the prayers of the woman who is longing. When the incense of her words reaches the throne room, the King says, “I hear you, my daughter. I have not forgotten you. I never get tired. My eyes are on you. Keep coming to me. I will satisfy you while I’m working to bring about my best for you.”

Wrestle with God in the longing. Ask Him more questions. Although you may feel ready, maybe there are things Jesus still wants to whisper to you in the quietness of His presence. Will you slow down and delight in Him?
Keep praying. Keep surrendering. Keep worshiping.
Don’t wait in disbelief. Wait in expectation.
I’m content in the longing because I’m confident that there’s never a moment where Jesus isn’t working.
