Even if, Jesus you are still good.
I’ll never forget having my face dug into the floor of my bedroom crying out to God to move in a specific area of my life. A place that I thought would end in a promise, yet there was so much confusion and fear. I ended that prayer by saying “Even if Jesus, you still are good.” Those words were hard to muster up because that was the complete opposite of what I was asking the Lord for. I still chose to tell Jesus that if my “even if,” came to pass, He was still good. I was declaring that despite the outcome of my circumstance, it never would change His goodness. He’s good because of who He is, not what He can do for me. Guess what. My “even if” came true… And even though it left me in utter shock and heartbreak, Jesus was still good. He always will be. He can’t be anything other than good. He’s just as worthy of my utmost praise and adoration when He answers my prayers the way I want Him to and He’s just as good when He doesn’t. His goodness is on display even in the midst of the hardest trials we will face. So for that, we rejoice. It was never about our satisfaction, but rather His holiness. To you, I have no idea what your “even if” is, but in the face of so many challenges, doubts, fears, and unknowns in this life, I encourage you to muster up the courage to open your heart up to Jesus and say “even if _____, you are still good.” It might not change our circumstances but it changes us.
GOOD NEWS:
Even if, Jesus is still alive.
Even if, Jesus is still on the throne.
Even if, Jesus still offers salvation.
Even if, Jesus never leaves us or forsakes us.
Even if, Jesus is our hope and healer.
Even if, Jesus is sovereign and holy.
Even if, Jesus is still good.
