For the one who is having a bad day or is in a tough season.
It’s comforting to remember the humanity of Jesus because He knows the exact feeling that you have at this moment. He sees you, He sympathizes with you and He comes closer than you could ever comprehend. Mark 1:35 says, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.” When pressure was applied, when the circumstances seemed too great to bear, when no one else understood, Jesus sought the quietness of His Father’s presence. If the son of God set aside intentional time to seek the Father, how much more should we? We are only as strong as our last encounter with the Father’s presence. Remember, it’s called a day or season for a reason. The feelings that today holds doesn’t determine the destiny of all of your tomorrows. Being weak is the best place to be… because you are in a constant state of humility & dependence on Jesus. Sadly, humility and dependence on Jesus leave the picture when things are well, and that is when we put our guard down. Deep intimacy with Jesus is birthed through the very thing that you believe is going to break you. Ask yourself… What is God trying to teach me? How can I grow to be more like Jesus through this?
2 Corinthians 12:9 “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
Friend, we are one day closer to forever with him. Fix your eyes on what’s to come.
