We shouldn’t be surprised when lost people act like lost people.
Don’t expect a lost person to act like they have been transformed by Christ. They talk like a lost person. They act like a lost person. They live like a lost person. We shouldn’t be surprised by a lost person’s sin. They are controlled by it. It’s what is natural and right for them. They don’t have the indwelling of the spirit. We are quick to judge the sin while forgetting their spiritual separation from God. For a person who doesn’t know Christ, their greatest need isn’t to fix a sin issue, it’s their need to be reconciled to God. Treat the disease, not the symptoms.
“When we were controlled by our old nature, sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death.”
Romans 7:5
