Valentine’s day should remind us more about our relationship with Jesus than our relationship with any other human being.
Human love is imperfect. God’s love is perfect.
Human love fails. God’s love never fails.
Human love leaves strings attached. God’s love has no strings attached.
Human love is selfish. God’s love is sacrificial.
Human love is earthly. God’s love is eternal.
We can think of 1000 ways human love has failed us, but never once can we name a time when God’s love has failed us. God is love. It’s not something that he gives, it’s the very nature of who he is. If you have Jesus, you have all that you need. You are complete & whole in Him. Lacking nothing.
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
